Borrelly 360 Retaining Rings
Borrelly 360 multi-turn internal and external spiral retaining rings are made by coiling the ring from laminated flat wire with round edges.
Borrelly Spring Washers makes retaining rings from 5 mm to 1000 mm diameter; 1 turn to 7 turns; Austenitic (AISI 301 – AISI 302 – AISI 316), Semi-austenitic (17-7 PH), Inconel, Hastelloy, CuBe2, Duplex, Super Duplex.

Technical description
Borrelly 360 retaining rings for multi-turn bores and shafts are made by coiling a ring from laminated flat wire with round edges.
They are manufactured with a notch; this make is extremely easy to remove from a groove.

Compared to stamped retaining rings (circlips), the benefits of the Borrelly 360 ring are:

Manual, semi-automated or automated installation of a Borrelly 360 retaining ring can be carried out using a simple assembly cone.

A standard screwdriver can be used to remove a Borrelly 360 retaining ring from its groove (whereas a special pliers is needed to remove a stamped circlip from a groove.
