Borrelly Spring Washers designs, engineers and manufactures multiturn internal spiral retaining rings.

Our spiral retaining rings for bores and housings can be ordered from stock or custom-made upon request. They are available in a variety of dimensions (from 5 mm to 1000 mm diameter), number of turns (from 1 to 7 turns) and materials (Austenitic and Semi-austenitic steel, Inconel, Hastelloy, CuBe2, Duplex and Super Duplex).

Technical description

Borrelly 360° internal spiral retaining rings are a type of retaining rings made from coiled flat wire with round edges. Designed without any ear and gap, they are an excellent alternative to stamped retaining rings, in particular DIN 472 circlips. They are manufactured with a notch, making them extremely easy to remove from a groove.

Our multi-turn internal spiral retaining rings can support medium to heavy loads and are designed to be axially installed within bores and housings to act as an artificial shoulder and provide a 360° retaining surface.

Bore retaining rings ordered from our precision range are manufactured under our EN 9100 quality management system and compliant with the MA4017 standards of the aeronautics industries.

Internal retaining rings from the Borrelly 360° range are extremely easy to install and remove and do not require any special tools or pliers. They can be installed using a simple assembly cone and removed with a standard screwdriver.

Their installation can be carried out manually, semi-automatically or automatically.
