Technical description
Made by simultaneously rolling and corrugating a flat wire corresponding to the width of the coil, multi turn wave springs are designed to optimize space in assemblies.
Multi wave spring washers such as the Ondufil are an excellent alternative to wave washers when more deflection needs to be delivered. By optimizing the number of active wave turns, the Ondufil Wave Springs provide a superior solution compared to helical springs.
This type of spring washers can accommodate a wide range of diameters, loads and deflections and is particularly adapted to strict space constraints. It can be used for applications with low-to-medium forces with greater travel compared to our single turn wave spring. In addition, it has excellent temperature resistance, ranging from -270°C to +800°C depending on the material it is made from.

Borrelly Ondufil multi turn wave springs: multiply the deflection of a wavy turn by the number of turns.

Borrelly Ondufil multi turn wave springs with shim ends: multiply the deflection of a wavy turn by the number of turns. If shim ends are used, support rings are no longer required.

Borrelly Ondufil with interlocking turns: multiply the effort of one turn by the number of turns.

The turns of this type of wave springs can be stacked, either in the same direction (parallel stacking) or in alternating directions (serial stacking), as a way to enhance the deflection or load supported by the wave spring.
When pre-stacked in series, the deflection is multiplied proportionally to the number of turns while the stiffness of the wave spring is divided by the number of turns. The load supported remains the same.
When pre-stacked parallelly, the load supported is multiplied by the number of turns. The same goes for the stiffness of the wave spring while maintaining the same deflection.
