Round Wire Wave Springs

Borrelly’s round wire wave springs are a perfect choice for applications involving very high loads and extremely tight axial and radial spaces.
Light-weight, strong and compact, this type of Ondufil wave spring can provide very high preload forces in mechanical assemblies while retaining the precise loading found in corrugated springs.
Our round wire wave springs come in a variety of materials (carbon and stainless steels, beryllium copper, special alloys…) and diameters (from 10mm to 500mm).

Custom round wire wave springs
Thanks to its extensive experience and technical expertise, our Engineering & Design Department can help you in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of custom round wire wave springs meeting your technical requirements. Our production workshop, fully integrated with production equipment designed and developed by Borrelly, can produce your customized wave spring in a very short amount of time, from protypes and limited series to very large runs.
Technical description
The Borrelly round wire wave springs, also called Rondufil wave springs, are gap wave springs made of round-section wire.
They are a superior alternative to flat-wire single turn wave springs and Belleville disc springs. They demonstrate more stiffness and can develop higher loads than flat-wire wave springs. As a replacement to Belleville disc springs, our round wire wave springs come with multiple advantages. While capable of developing similar loads, they provide greater deflection, more consistent and accurate loading than Belleville disc springs and can take up to 25% less radial space than the latter.
- Space-saving solution suitable for very tight axial and radial spaces
- Capable of developing very high loads
- Require less material usage
- Cost-effective
- Available in standard and custom design options

Round wire wave springs are a trusted solution for many cases of applications. They are commonly used for the preloading of mechanical assemblies in order to dampen or completely eliminate vibrations. They are also used to compensate deviations caused by tolerance variations as well as play resulting from thermal expansion in assembled components. They can be found in equipments such as ball valves, vibrations isolators, axial piston pumps and variable pulleys for instance.
