Nested Wave Springs

Ideal for applications requiring very high loads in minimal spaces, Borrelly’s nested wave springs demonstrate excellent load performances in axially and radially limited environments.
Part of the Borrelly Ondufil range of wave springs, they are a versatile, reliable and top-quality wave spring choice, designed to meet the requirements of the most extreme applications.

Custom nested wave springs
Thanks to its extensive experience and technical expertise, our Engineering & Design Department can help you in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of custom nested wave springs meeting your technical requirements. Our production workshop, fully integrated with production equipment designed and developed by Borrelly, can produce your customized wave spring in a very short amount of time, from protypes and limited series to very large runs. Whether you are looking to increase the number of turns, the number of waves or require special alloys, you can count on us to answer your needs.
Technical description
The Ondufil nested wave springs are a type of multi turn wave springs with parallel stacking. They are made of flat wire coiled in parallel, forming a continuous coil of layers. Their load and spring rate characteristics are proportional to their number of turns. The more turns they have, the higher their spring rate and load capacities will be.
This single-part solution is an excellent replacement to single turn wave springs and Belleville disc springs. They produce higher loads than single turn wave springs are capable of while taking less radial space than Belleville disc springs. In addition, they provide more consistent and accurate forces and make assembly simpler and quicker, without any of the complications caused by the stacking of multiple parts (binding, misalignments, uneven loads…).
- They can withstand very high loads
- They fit in tight radial and axial spaces
- They prevent misalignments and uneven loading issues
- They are a tangle-resistant and sturdy solution
- They are a time and cost-saving choice
- They are ideal for automated handling

Nested wave springs are a trusted solution for many cases of applications, especially heavy-duty ones. They are often used for the preloading of ball bearings with very high loads to limit vibration and noise issues within assemblies. They can be found in bayonet connectors as well turbines in the aerospace sector.
